US major plans to set up software firm in HCMC

The US-based Hewlett-Packard Corp is planning to set up an $18 million software firm in Ho Chi Minh City’s Quang Trung Software Park.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment has submitted a special report about it to the government, Do Nhat Hoang, head of ministry’s Foreign Investment Agency, said.
The park, opened nine years ago, has attracted investments of more than $74 million from 100 firms, including 43 foreign, this year.
HP, headquartered in California, the US, specializes in computing, data storage, and networking hardware, printers and other imaging products, software, and services.
It reported revenues of $115 billion last year, with approximately $40 billion coming from services.
