The Ministry of Industry and Trade reduced tra fish's export value this month after exporters from the US began levying anti-dumping taxes of 130 per cent on the product.
The predicted export value was adjusted from US$1.38 billion to $1.35 billion, said the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
The country's total seafood export value for this year would stand at $4.81 billion, which was lower than estimates from earlier this year.
This new figure was released after the US Department of Commerce issued an anti-dumping tax on Vietnamese tra fillets. The department decided to impose an anti-dumping tax rate of 130 per cent on Vietnamese tra. The tax will go into effect in March 2011.
