(CPV) – The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) on October 20th said as the weather in Vinh, Nghe An was better after the storm, ensuring conditions for operation; the carrier resumed flights which were previously delayed to the city. Together with flights to and from Vinh, VNA will conduct two flights for compensation by aircraft A321 from Vinh to Ho Chi Minh City.
Earlier, on October 19th, heavy rain and foggy weather in central provinces forced the carrier to cancel four local flights to and from Dong Hoi Airport, Quang Binh and moved passengers to Hue.
Total passengers at Vinh Airport over the past days were moved out from the affected region. As of October 20th, the weather changed positively, thus, the airline will get back to its normal service schedules at all airports.
However, Vietnam Airlines still follows information about the super typhoon Megi and the situation of flights through and from China to Vietnam to prepare prevention plans to increase flights or conduct flights for compensation if necessary.
