Advisory council against trade fraud involving certificates of origin

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has set up an advisory council to warn businesses against the trade fraud involving certificates of origin (CO).
Vietnamese enterprises will be given warnings by the council before signing contracts or investment agreements related to products subject to anti-dumping tariffs or in danger of incurring these taxes, says Pham Gia Tuc, Vice President of the VCCI.
The council will also keep abreast of information on business trends through business associations.
With its flexible mechanism, the council is expected to forestall trade fraud pertaining to CO’s with the aim of protecting national interests as well as the interests of the Vietnamese business community.
