Of 34 projects of this kind, nine have completed, including: The Hanoi Library, the statue of King Le Thai To, the August Revolution Square, The Elite Sports Training Centre, Kim Lien – O Cho Dua road, Vinh Tuy bridge and Lac Long Quan road.
Eight others are under urgent construction: Thanh Tri bridge, the belt road No.3, Doi Can – West Lake road, Road 32, Nguyen Phong Sac road and some others.
The city recently reported seven projects that may not be finished in time: the Highway 5, the belt road No.2, Buoi and Cau Giay traffic islands, Vietnam-Korea Technical Worker Training School, Tuoi Tre Park, Tay Mo vocational training school complex, O Dong Mac – Nguyen Khoai road, O Cho Dua – Hoang Cau road and the Thang Long Tower.
The city said some works are behind schedule due to the limited capability of investors, poor consulting quality, and problems associated with site clearance, compensation and the economic slowdown.
Hanoi has set up five inspection groups to supervise and deal with problems related to these projects.
