The top 10 stock millionaires

VietNamNet Bridge – Doan Nguyen Duc, Chair of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group, which now has the stock assets worth 10,853 billion dong, is now considered the richest stock millionaire, according to local media.

Local newspapers, quoting the latest report released by a financial company, have pointed out that the total stock assets of 10 richest stock millionaires have reached 30,487 billion dong. Of these people, Doan Nguyen Duc, Chair of Hoang Anh Gia Lai, is holding 146.6 million of Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s shares, worth 10,853 billion dong.

With the total asset value accounting for 1/3 of the total assets of the 10 richest stock millionaires, Duc continues leading the list of top 10 stock millionaires. He was also on the position in 2009.

Dang Thanh Tam, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Kinh Bac Urban Area Development Corporation, ranks the second in the financial company’s report. The volumes of KBC, ITA and SGT shares, three share items out of the five share items Tam is holding, in have increased sharply in circulation, since companies have issued more shares to pay dividends to shareholders.

However, since the SQC share prices have decreased sharply, the total asset value of Dang Thanh Tam has decreased to 9400 billion dong. In late 2009, Tam was listed as the richest stock millionaire in Vietnam with the total assets worth 13,700 billion dong, including 9000 billion dong worth of SQC shares.

The name Pham Nhat Vuong has become a well known name in the business circle. Vuong is now the Member of the Board of Directors of two big corporations, Vincom Group (VIC) and Vinpearl (VPL). Vuong reportedly has the total stock assets worth 8787 billion dong. This is the value of 153.2 million VIC shares and 11 million VPL shares.

Tran Dinh Long, Chair of Hoa Phat Group remains on the fourth position with 2950 billion dong worth of stock assets, a decrease of nearly 30 billion dong from late 2009. Long has become more famous recently when he became the second businessman in Vietnam owning a private plane. The first businessman who purchased private aircraft was Doan Nguyen Duc of Hoang Anh Gia Lai group.

Two new names have appeared in the list of top 10 stock millionaires – Ha Van Tham, Chair of Dai Duong Group (OGC) and Nguyen Van Dat, chair of Phat Dat Corporation, who rank the 5th and 6thin the list.

Tham is now holding 82.1 million OGC shares, worth 2744 billion dong, while Dat is holding 76.8 million PDR shares, worth 2672 billion dong.

Nguyen Thi Nhu Loan, Chair and General Director of Quoc Cuong Gia Lai (QCG), holding the shares worth 1949 billion dong, ranks the 7th in the list of top 10 stock millionaires.

There are three persons, whose names are not found in the list, but they have the total asset value at more than one trillion dong. They are Nguyen Thi Kim Xuan, elder sister of Dang Thanh Tam’s wife, Dang Thi Hoang Phuong, younger sister of Dang Thanh Tam, who have the total asset value of 1900 billion dong and 1205 billion, respectively. With the assets, Xuan and Phuong ranks the 8th and 10th in the list.

Meanwhile, the ninth position belongs to Pham Thu Huong, the wife of Pham Nhat Vuong, who has the stock assets worth 1468 billion dong. In the 2009’s ranking, Huong ranked the tenth.
