VietNamNet Bridge – In old pictures taken in the 19th century, the citadel was a bulky work which was located on a quiet area.
The citadel on August 1 was recognized by the UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site. UNESCO’s general director will come to Hanoi to attend the city’s great anniversary on October 1 and to present the certificate.
Below are old pictures from the collection entitled “Hanoi Memories” by teacher Doan Thinh and his son, architect Doan Bac.
