HCMC Party Committee to begin congress this week

HCMC – The HCMC Party Committee will hold a ninth congress from October 5 to 8 with 449 official Party members taking part, and Vietnam’s Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh will speak at the opening session.
Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, head of the HCMC Party Committee’s propaganda and education department, told reporters in HCMC last Friday that the delegates would meet at the City Party Committee hall in District 3 and in groups during seven sessions after their preparatory meeting on Monday.
The delegates are expected to work in 20 groups. They will discuss and give their comments on draft documents for the 11th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam scheduled to take place in January as well as a draft report of the HCMC Party Committee at the event.
HCMC Television and HCMC Radio will broadcast live the opening session in the morning of October 5 and the closing session in the morning of October 8. In addition, media organizations are also invited to cover a working session of the delegates at the hall on October 6.
