Apple’s big bite

The two largest mobile operators in Vietnam, Viettel and VinaPhone, today sold out 1,000 Apple iPhone4 packages.

VinaPhone gave priority to post-paid customers through its package.

Individual customers paid total VND15.6 million ($821) for 32 GB version for subscription and VND13.4 million ($705) for 16GB versions for subscription.

Post-paid enterprises and VIP customers enjoyed softer packages with total charges of VND15 million ($789) for 32GB version and VND12.8 million ($673) for 16GB versions with commitment of service usage within one or two years.

Viettel offered the phone in 20 shops in 13 provinces and cities. The device costs VND15.5 million ($815) for 32GB version and VND13.3 million ($700) for 16GB version.

Viettel will charge VND600,000 for international iPhone4 version for customers connecting to GSM networks throughout the world.
