(CPV) – On October 17th, Vietnam’s low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific (JP) received an additional Airbus A320 at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport to be put into operation as of October 20th. This is the newest airplane in Vietnam registered with the flight nationality of VNA198. It is designed with 180 economy seats and a range frequency of 4,800 kilometers at full capacity. So far, the carrier has five Boeing B737-400s and two Airbus A320s, conducting more than 40 flights a day to six major cities in Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Danang, Hue, Vinh, and Hai Phong. General Director of Jetstar Pacific Le Song Lai said that the event marked a starting point in targeting a fleet of overall Airbus A320s to replace its existing fleet of a combination of Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The carrier plans to expand its fleet to 15 Airbus A320s by 2014 to improve services and save maintenance costs. |
