HCM City greets nearly 400,000 foreign tourists



The Ho Chi Minh Department of Culture, Sport, and Tourism reported that the city welcomed nearly 400,000 foreign tourists, an increase of 50% year on year and 130,000 from September.
Of this figure, 320,000 foreign tourists arrived to Vietnam’s southern city by air. Total foreign tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in the first 10 months of 2010 reached nearly 2.6 million, a rise of 25% year on year.
The city’s tourism sector is expecting to receive the 3 millionth foreign tourists late this year. Moreover, aiming to attract more tourists, the Department of Culture, Sport, and Tourism is targeting at developing river travel and the program “HCM City - 100 interesting things.”
